Explain and Operate the New Zealand Food Safety Authority’s Electronic Certification System of Official
Assurance – 10 Credits

Description:

Persons wishing to apply for auto-approval under the MPI’s electronic certification system are required to hold unit standard 20831 prior to application to MPI.

The Course is intended for people who already have experience in completing ED’s and Health Certificates but wish to gain auto approval through MPI.

The unit standard itself covers the following:

  • The ethics and responsibilities associated with the E cert operator role
  • An explanation of the legislative requirements and other information/websites that underpin the E cert operator role
  • An explanation of the certification requirements for specific seafood products
  • A requirement to complete a range of E cert documents in accordance with company and legislative requirements

Prerequisites

  • Require a login and password to the ecert live site
  • Preferable 3 months experience completing eligibility documents
  • Ability to navigate the New Zealand Food Safety Authority website
  • How to use the Official Assurances Programme (OAP)
  • Familiar with your on site compliance programme and records generated
