The Skipper Restricted Licence is commonly known in the NZ maritime sector as SRL. It is a command certificate with engineering components and allows you to operate commercial vessels (including passenger endorsement, if required) up to 12 metresĀ (24 metres with endorsement) in restricted limits. The required course is the NZ Certificate in Domestic Maritime Operations -SRL (CIDMO).
Our course consists of a Student Activity Book to complete in your workplace prior to attending the mandatory 5-week training class (block course). Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to sit your oral exam through Maritime NZ to then be awarded your Licence.

Prior to commencing the classroom/vessel-based block course, we provide you with a Student Activity Workbook, directly related to the work you are doing. This activity commences on the pre-enrolment date and must be completed before the start of the block course. Our support tutor will assist you every step of the way.
